Fifty dollars will be given to the senior girl in Oley Valley Area School, for the highest achievement in home economics. Reminders were given for the 40th anniversary celebration for Group 1 on April 30th at Berks County Agricultural Center, Spring Rally at York on May 1, and Berks Heim Tea on May 7. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. David Bauer, R 1 Oley, on May 20. The program will be on Safety. York Co. Society 9 York Society 9 held their monthly meeting at the home of Patsy Shue. Slides showing some of Red Lion’s cigar industry were shown. Final plans were made for a chicken barbeque to be held Saturday at the west endofDallastown. Plans were also made for a Mother Daughter Banquet to be held May 14 at Rutter’s Dairyland Square. York Co, Society 12 York’s Friendly Society 12 held their April meeting at Rutter’s Dairyland Restaurant, Red lion, to celebrate the group’s 28th anniversary. York County Coroner, Kathryn Fourhman was the guest speaker. Sixteen members plan to attend the Spring Rally on May 1. Three members will help with the York Hospital Fete on May 16 and 17 at the York Fairgrounds. The group will be en tertained by Green Valley Society 26 at Newberrytown Plaza Restaurant at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13.
