Berks Co.
Society 12
Judy Palmer, Bemville, a
certified CPR instructor,
was the guest speaker at the
April meeting of Berks
Society 12, at the Bemville
home of Sadly Steinhauer.
Judy showed a film en
titled One Person Too Late,
which was supplied by the
Red Cross, Berks County
Chapter of Reading. The
women also exchanged
house plants at the meeting
and donated prizes for the
Berks Heim Bingo.
The next meeting will be
held at the Bemville home of
Rita Stump. Each member
will bake a cake and a silent
auction will be held at the
meeting to sell the cakes,
with the proceeds going into
the treasury.

Society 6
Lancaster Society 6 held
their April meeting in the
home of Mary Thome,
Elizabethtown.
The members approved a
contribution to the county
project, the Hospice.
Comfort Njoku of Nigeria
was the April speaker. She is
serving with Mennonite
Central Committee as a
teachers aide at the Kraybill
Mennonite School.
The next meeting will be
held on Saturday, May 3 at
1:30 p.m. in the
Elizabethtown Church of
God. The group will be en
tertaining Society 28 and the
county officers.

Society 8
Lancaster Society 8 met at
the home of Arline Witman
and Mary Sarver, recently to
entertain Society 30.
The Garman family,
played violin selections and
Mrs. Garman recited a
monologue. Jean Moyers
spoke on Children and their
Development
The next meeting will be
held May 17, at 2 p.m. at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin
K. Miller, 426 Donegal
Springs Road, Mount Joy.

Lancaster County Society
13 met at the Tourist Bureau
Information Center where
they saw the film “Lan
caster County.”
A carport and bake sale
will be held on May 17 at Ada
Bomberger’s, 217 Hillcrest
Road, New Holland.
The next meeting will be
May 9, at Laura Denlmger’s,
28 Greenfield Road, with
Ethel Landis and Dorothy
Landis as co-hostesses.

Society 14
Lancaster Group 14 held
their April meeting in the
Church of Christ, Camp
belltown.
Groups 8 and 11 were
entertained with a macrame
and silk flower demon
stration given by Jenny
Becker and Beverly
Laughlin of Elizabethtown.
The next meeting will be
held May 20 at the home of
Beatrice Dice with Sara
Buchmoyer as co-hostess.

Lancaster Group 15 met
recently at the home of
Kathleen Groff near
Tayloria.

conducted an energy audit of
the members’ homes.
A mother-daughter brunch
will be held at Willow Valley
Restaurant on Saturday,
May 10. A 5 day tnp of the
state will be taken by the
group in October.
An invitation was read to
the group to be guests of
Society 24 at the May 28
meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the
Farm and Home Center,
Lancaster.
A bus will be taking the
group to the Spring Rally at
York on May 1. The bus will
leave the Quarryville
Reformed Church parking
lot at 9 a.m.
The group will have a trip
to Three Little Bakers
dinner theater on June 12 at 6
p.m.
The group will have a food
table today at the Stoner
sale.
The baseball teams to
which the group donated $lOO
are now in full swing.
One week each month the
group and the boy scouts will
help with the handicapped
horseback riding project at
Hidden Acres m Coleram.
A $lO donation was given
to the Cancer Society and a
$5O bond will be presented to
a Solanco graduate.

Society 18
Lancaster Society 18 met
at the home of Mildred
Kreider recently.
Mrs. Richard Martin gave
a dramatization of Bible
women.
Plans were completed for
a trip to Williamsburg in
May.
