representative gave a State
Association report.

Association had a good year
last year and this year looks
good too.
‘ ‘Sales of cattle are up.
“The average selling pnce
is $1077 which is a 51 percent
increase over last year’s
average,” stated Secnst

had its second annual Blue
Halter Calf Sale and the 15
calves sold averaged $960,
$330 better than calves sold
last year.
Raymond Witmer of
Willow Street, who is
currently on the Middle
Atlantic Guernsey Sire
Committee, spoke on this
new young sire selection
program
“The MAGS committee is
working for you.
“Any bull approved by the
committee has to be a 900
plus bull” said Witmer.
“It takes all of us to make
MAGS a success stated
Witmer. The breed has got to
to speak to
time for a question and
answer session.
In addition to his many
honors in the field of
veterinary science, Guss has
been active in the dairy goat
industry. He is the author of

column in the Dairy Goat

go up.
The Association knows of
one breeding service that no
longer carries colored breed

economically they cannot do
it, and both Witmer and

the breed has got to make it
on their own.
