1 BY LAUREL SHAEEFER Staff Correspondent LEESPORT Dedicating a day for themselves, the Berks County Farmer’s Assn.' jtvomens committee held their annual Ladies Day Out, March 19 at the Berks County Agricultural Center. Highlighting the program were Catharine Schiefer stein, who presented a program entitled “Where did you get, that Hat,” and Sally Rubnght, who presented-a fashion show by Queen’s Way Fashions. Hat fashions program presented Schieferstem’s act was a mixture of song and comedy centered on hat fashions, past and present. Laura Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller, R 2 Bernville, spoke to the large audience about her involvement in FFA and how she was selected to attend a youth conference sponsored l by the women’s committee, i Other events included a presentation by Debbie and Arlan Davis, Richland, past talent contest winners in religious singing, and a brief explanation by Penn sylvania Farmer’s Association Regional Organizational Director, Ed Taczanowski concerning his duties and responsibilities to the organization. Debbie Sunday, Berks County Dairy Princess was also on hand during the day long event. Chairlady Glenna Hix reminded the many women present of upcoming events. These' included a Farm-City Festival, April 30, the Ag Expo scheduled for the Berkshire Mali June 16 - 21, and a farm safety field day in July.
