are of utmost importance in
conditioning. A preventative
medicine program should in
clude immunization against
diseases, and prevention and
control of internal parasites.

Service. Under the program,
states request the funds and
match approved grants with
state money.
A $5346 grant will be used
to expand the reporting of
prices and supplies of fruit
and vegetables grown and
sold in Pennsylvania. The
information will be gathered
from producers who sell
directly to consumers and
prepare mares for breeding
to vaccinate mares against
tetanus, eastern and western
encephalomyelitis and,
possibly, upper respiratory
problems found in your par
ticular area.
Feed mares a well balanc
ed gram ration containing
approximately 15 percent
crude protem and about 75
percent TDN and a high
quality alfalfa or alfalfa
grass hay to prepare them
for the upcomuig breeding
season. A vitamin and
mineral supplement may be
fed if good quality roughage
is hot available.
All mares should be turned
out, lunged, ridden or driven
for adequate exercise. The
