the most attentive observer Each week on these pages we
attempt to provide a roundup of legislative highlights, but in
the process, we cannot call attention to the many other bills
languishing or boiling in various stages of the legislative
process
This scorecard, which we plan to update every week the
legislature is in session, is an attempt to provide as complete a
rundown of farm legislation as we can

Brief Description
A bill to abolish the milk marketing board
Amends clean and green legislation
to spell out duties of county
assessor, and to define forms and
land split-offs
Would amend food law to
set nutritional requirements
for imitation foods
Would abolish the Milk Marketing
Board
Increases salaries of chairman
and members of the Milk Marketing
Board
Would amend clean streams law to
prohibit any agency from requiring
fences to keep livestock out of
streams
Would give Pa Dept of Agriculture
power to certify marketing and
bargaining associations for certain
commodities, and to regulate the
marketing and bargaining process
Would authorize the creation of
agricultural districts
Would amend clean and green law
to provide for recording of preferential
assessment agreements and to continue
preferential assessment on original
tract in case of split-offs
Would set procedures for
the termination of milk
handling contracts, and would provide
enforcement, penalties and
remedies
Amends clean and green to more ■*
clearly define "roll-back
tax" and “split-off”
Dog law amendment
Restricts farmland ownership by
certain corporations
Would require certain state
institutions to make lands
available for public
agricultural programs
Amends clean and green to allow
for continuation of preferential
use assessment when a transfer,
separation or split-off results
in an estate subdivision
Weights and Measures amendment
Would regulate importation of live
wild rabbits, hares and other
rodents
