Cl6—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, March 15,1980 Leaner year predicted at meeting BY JANE BRESEE Staff Correspondent WYSOX “Farmers may have a leaner year finan cially in 1980,” predicted Robert Reick, general manager at the Lewisburg office of the Production Credit and Federal Land Bank Associations. Reick, the mam speaker at the annual meeting of the Northeastern Farm Credit Service in Wysox, told the 150 farmer members present that higher costs of energy, chemicals, interest rates, etc. would be a continuing challenge to their management skills. Paul Sims of Bradford County, chairman of the joint boards of the Production Credit and Land Bank Associations con ducted the meeting. He introduced prospective board members as follows. S. Richard Moyer of Union County, versus Donald G. Cotner, Sr.; and Lee Shaffer, Snyder County versus Mervin B. Nissley, Union County; for a term of 3 years in the Northeastern Production Credit Association. Voting on board members will continue at two more annual meetings in the northeast region after which votes will be talked, Mr. Sims explained. Ronald Byrd from the Federal Land Bank office in Virginia spoke briefly to urge the farmers to support legislation updating the Farm Credit Act of 1971. Lynn Chubbuck, manager, and Edwin J.
