CAMP HILL More than
200 farmer members of the
Pennsylvania Farmers
Association and dignitaries
from the Department of
Agriculture gathered last
week at the Penn-Harns
Motel to see the candidates
running for the U.S. Senate
seat being vacated by
Schweiker, and for the post
of the first elected attorney
general of Pennsylvania.
The occasion was a “Meet
Your Candidate’s” Banquet
sponsored by the Public
Affairs Department of PFA.
Following the dinner, the
moderator Rudy Denes of
Ohio, Member Relation
Representative of the
American Farm Bureau
Federation introduced the 15
candidates for senate and
two for attorney general.

Joseph Rhodes, state representative, 24th
district, talked to Jan Carson, staff PFA member,
about nuclear energy.

as time-keeper for the event

the only woman running
for the U.S. Senate
seat, was present at the
meeting.
