slaughter steers were 1.25-
1.75 higher and heifer pnees
ranged 1.50-2.00 higher.
Cows were 2.50-4.00 higher
and bulls 2.00-3.00 higher.
Two-way feeder steers were
2.00-2.50 higher.
Four day receipts this
week 15,600; last week
13,700; year ago 12,800.
The fed cattle trade again
followed an irregular pat
tern characterized by wide
day-to-day fluctuations.
Prices advanced sharply m
an aggressive trade Mon
day, lost part of the upturn
on an expanded Tuesday run
and then stabilized at
midweek. Supplies were
poorly distributed over the
trading penod and con
tributed to the uneven trade.
The run included a rather
liberal percentage choice
steers and heifers although
many were muddy or mixed
3-4 yield grade. Slaughter
steers made up ap
proximately 43 pet and
heifers 34 pet. Cows com
prised 13 pet and feeders 8
pet.
