Rains, a young Angus
breeder from Mercer, has
earned the Silver Award in
the National Junior
Recognition Program,
sponsored by the American
Angus Association, reports
Dr. Jerry Lipsey, director of
junior activities for the
Association.
HARLEYSVILLE - A
new 4-H Rifle dub will be
starting in the Salford-
Harleysville area. Any in
terested boy or girl between
the ages of 13-19 (as of
January 1,1960), is welcome
to attend an orientation and
organizational meeting on
Friday, February 22nd; 7:30
p.m. at the Souderton-
Harleysville, Game, Fish
and Forrestry Association,
Inc., located on Whites Mill
Road in Salford Township.

Award, the highest honor
presently given in the
program, in recognition of
his outstanding
achievements in Angus
related activities.
Owner of 45 head of
registered Angus cattle,
Dale has served as president
New 4-H rifle club to organize
4-H dub leader. All rifles
and equipment will be
provided.
There will be a nominal fee
to cover the cost of am
munition and the N.R.A
safety course. All 4-H project
books and instruction are
free of charge.
As 4-H members, youth
will be entitled to win rib
bons, certificates, patches
and year pins for completed
project work.

Award will be established by
the National Junior Angus
Association in July.
The program was
established in 1972 by the
Association, and recently
expanded to encourage more
junior members to strive for
excellence and to report
their achievements to the
