GETTYSBURG. Last month, No 53 was No One in both
milk and fat production during her 305 day lactation record
The top cow, a five-year-old in the herd of Weim Sharr Farms,
made 26,078 pounds milk and 1045 pounds fat for the best
record in Adams County
Her herd mate, No 54 was the second top ranking cow in fat
production in the county She made 1014 pounds of fat with
23,178 pounds of milk for Weim Sharr Farms
This same farms’ cow No. 150, was in the top ten m milk
production, making 24.375 pounds and 736 pounds fat
Ray Dutterer’s cow No 203 was the second top Adams
County cow in milk production She made 25,901 poundsmilk
and 978 pounds fat during her record
Another cow with a milk fat record worth mentioning was
cow No 16 in the Yellow Buttercup Farms herd She made 935
pounds of fat and 23,410 pounds milk, ranking in the county's
top ten
Leßoy Deputy was undoubtedly happy with his cow's milk
production record As a matter of fact. Happy made 25,340
pounds, the third highest production record in the county Her
fat record was 830 pounds
Sixty-five cows completed lactation records with over 600
pounds milk fat Thirty-eight had records over the 600 pound
cut off, eighteen were over 700 pounds, five went over the 800
pounds mark, two cows made more than 900 pounds, and two
cows topped the 1000 pound mark
Leading the county in total milk fat production was the-Roy
A Weaner, Jr herd with 2 04 pounds for 55 cows They were
followed by the 110 6 cow record of the Yellow Buttercup
Farm, with 1 96 pounds.
Noel & Holmes and Stoner Bros Dairy were tied with a milk
fat production level of 1 95 pounds And Kling Ayr Farms was
fifth with 1 85 pounds fat
