Pork Council directors ask percentage checkoff plan
DES MOINES, IA - The
National Pork Producers
Council’s board of directors
has voted' unanimously to
recommend that the group’s
delegate body change the
present 10 cent per market
hog checkoff rate to a per
centage of market value.
The proposal, approved by
the board Thursday, calls for
checkoff of three-tenths of

national level,” adds NPPC
President Buller.
“It should help us all at

distribution of our pork and

creasing demand for our
quality port products,” he

Time
possible. Construction costs
are very high and in this part
of the state, current
buildings are very well built
and can be changed into
some very good quarters for
many types of livestock. In
addition, new structures can
more easily change the tax
assessment values, as
compared to remodeling
existing buildings. Time
spent in observing similar
production units and ir
making plans on paper
should precede any actua
construction work.
