    Mull sweeps canned food competition
f HARRISBURG - Ruth
Mull of Skyview Lane, Lititz
walked away from the 64th
Annual Pennsylvania open
food show with the majority
of the first place ribbons.
Of the 50 food class
competitions. Mull took nine
blue, 11 red and quite a few
white and gold ribbons.
Highlighting her entries,
was the first place display of
canned goods, canned lima
beans, white corn and
carrots.
Mull also had the cham
pion display of canned
meats.
In- Uie frmt competition,
Ruth exhibited the first
place sweet white cherries,
sweet red cherries and
blueberries.
Myrtle Lefever of Willow
Street also exhibited an
excellent selection of canned
fruit and vegetables, in
cluding the first place
asparagus and fruit
preserves.
Another Willow Street
native, Janet Miller of
Casper Drive, took second
place honors in the menu and
display of three canned
foods.
Mrs. Merle Mishler of R 2
Hollsopple, Somerset
County, earned a number of
top honors. Her
achievements included the
blue honors m both the

among the top placing entries in the open food class competition at the 1980
Farm Show. Ruth Mull swept nine of the food classes, earning blue ribbons.
However, Lefever provided tough competition.
