HARRISBURG - Pigeon
Hill Farm, Abbottstown,
York (bounty, made a clean
sweep of 'the Hereford
breeding cattle show held on
Wednesday afternoon.
The York County farm
captured the grand and
reserve champions in both
the female and bull classes.
PH MSLI Northern 39 was
tagged as the top female.
Her three-quarter sister, PH
MSLI Northern 29, was the
reserve champ. The calves
were out of sister cows and
were sired by BHLI Real
126.
In the bull division, Pigeon
Hill’s TH Mr. Advance 33
was the grand champion,
with PH Big Northern 408,
taking the reserve honors.
This is the fifth year
Pigeon Hills has shown at
the Farm Show. Out of those

five years, the farm has only
taken one reserve champion,
noted Terry Shearer, herd
sman. That was in 1977, and
the rest of the time they have
always had all of the
champs, he said.
Pigeon Hills’ herd of 60
registered Hereford cows is
owned by Dr. F. Malcolm
Wright and his wife Susan.
Assisting in fitting and
showing the cattle was Don
Sunday. SM.
