McConnell takes Poland China first HARRISBURG - Keith McConnell of Volant, Lawrence County, took the grand champion honors at the Poland China swine show, Monday afternoon. McConnell has been showing for the past 30 years, although he missed a few years. In his years of experience, he has earned many^hampionships. The January gilt com petition yielded the reserve champion of the Poland China Show. The Jergs Coal Hill Pro Allie was sired by Mr. Pro. She is presently bred to Black Bobcat. Morell Myers of Thomasville, York County, purchased the champion for $320 during Tuesday mor ning’s sale in the Farm Show’s small arena. ' ->r» Ron Trostle of R 2 Red Lion, purchased the reserve champion for $2OO. A total of 14 Poland China gilts were sold at the sale with the average price at $188.93.
