Ephrata fanner takes
HARRISBURG - Darnel
A. Brubaker of Ephrata,
Lancaster County, won three
championships in open corn
competition at the 64th Farm
Show. His entries won the 30-
ear open hybrid dent, 30-ear
open pollinated dent, and 30-
ear open pollinated Flint or
Indian in District I, or
eastern Pennsylvania.
Joyce Crowl of Amnlle,
York County, won top honors
m the 10-ear hybrid dent
division for eastern Penn
sylvania growers.
Doug Hancock of Honey
Grove, Juniata County,
exhibited the first place
sample of 10-ear hybrid dent
in District n, or central and
western Pennsylvania. He
also showed the winning
sample of 30-ear hybrid dent
for District n.
A.B. Brubaker of Ephrata,
Lancaster county, exhibited
the first place sample of 10-
ear open pollinated dent in
eastern Pennsylvania.
The 10-ear open pollinated
Flint or Indian division in
Delaware
land use meetings
DOVER, Del. Two
meetings - one for farmers
and the other for non
farmers -- have been
scheduled to explore the
issue of agricultural land
preservation in Delaware.
The farmer meeting will
take place Thursday,
January 31, at the Capitol
Grange Hall in Dover.
The non-farmer meeting
will be held Febuary 1 at the
State Highway Department
building across from the
Blue Hen Mall in Dover.
Both day-long sessions will
begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4
p.m.
The purpose of these
meetings is to provide
owners and users of
agricultural land with a
broad overview of what is
happening to Delaware’s
farmland and how these
trends may affect them in
the future, says Doug Angle,
University of Delaware
extension rural development
agent.
The program at both
sessions will mclude a
discussion of the issue of
agricultural land preser
vation m the state, the

Results are in from the 1979
County 4-H Talent Show.
This year’s top winners m
the talent category were the
Stump Comer 4-H Club of
Middletown and in the en
tertainment category, the
Y’s Owls 4-H Club of
Hockessm.
Other winners included ...
Blue nbbon winners were
the Clever Clovers 4-H Club
and Red ribbon winners
were Green Clovers, Pen
cader and Meado Larks 4-H
Clubs; White ribbon winners
were the Colonials, Fan
tastics and the Hill’n Dale 4-
H Clubs,
The Stump Corner 4-H club
demonstrated musical
talents with a variety of
musical instruments. The
Y’s Owl 4-H Club members
worked hard in planning a
senes of skits on the
emmy’s.
The Talent Show is
designed to allow 4-H clubs
to work together as a team to
present a five minute act in
