Dry manure inside the
house to prevent ammonia
gas from forming.
Repair, maintain or adjust
fans, louvers and inlets so

inside the poultry house.
Direct air over birds first
when it is fresh, then move it
over manure in pits to dry
manure to below 25 percent
moisture inside the poultry
house.
Design and re-design a

minimum of one cubic foot of
air per mmute is moved into
and out of the house for
every four pounds of bird
weight, all day and all night
all year long
Poultry houses should be
tight, well insulated, and
well ventilated.
