They include: erosion and sedimentation control facilities; stream im provements for aquatic life approved by the Pa. Fish Commission; farm ponds; flood-proofing and flood hazard reduction structures to protect existing buildings; public and private utilities, excluding buildings; boat launches, docks, piers, hatcheries; water monitoring devices; and culverts, bridges, and their approaches. However, these must still be approved by the Commission. The ordinance also recommends that the area between the 100 and 500 year floodplain be identified and that any structures located in this area be floodproofed. Commissioner Raymond Herr voted for the amend ment. He said that he suspected that realtors would object, mentioning that they had about 12 to 15 people at the meeting. Only two or three of their group, however, voiced their opinions, he said. Commissioner Herr said that it was time that something was done about building m the floodplain.
