business meeting. The new

distributed, and a brief
explanation was given on the
programs planned for next
year.
The next meeting will be
held on January 8 at 7:30
p.m. m the home of Elta
Weaver. A game night is
planned.

Women Society 2 held their
annual Christmas party at
Rutter’s Restaurant,
Dairyland Square, Red Lion.
Alfons Jacobs, Dallastown
Area Senior High School’s
exchange student from
Belgium, under the Youth
For Understanding In
ternational Exchange
presented slides of his
country with interesting
comments.
A very informative
question and answer period
followed. Perhaps our
“Peace on Earth” will one
day happen because of our
young people getting to know
one another from around the
world.

Mrs. Karen Thomas sang

Ferree volunteered to be
delegates to the State
Convention of Farm Women
in Harrisburg on January 7
and 8,1980.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Anna
Eppley, Rl, Midpine Drive,
York, Pa. on January 9,1980.

The annual Christmas
Party of the York County
Farm Women Society 7 was

held recently at the Avalong
in York.
Scripture was read by
Mrs. Robert Emswiler,
president. A reading en
titled, “Why can’t everyday
be like Christmas”, wag also
read by Mrs. Emswiler.
It was announced that the
new president, Mrs. Edward
Brothers, and delegates will
attend the State Farm
Women Convention in
Harrisburg on January 7 and
8.
Society members sang
Christmas carols and each
member received a gift.
Entertainment for the
evening was provided by
Fred Hainly. He told Dutch
jokes.
The next meeting is
schedule for January 9 in the
East Manchester Township
building, with Mary Rohrer
as hostess.

The December meeting of
the York County Farm
Women Society 26 met at the
home of Mrs. Calvin Wilt, Rl
York Haven.
Twenty members attended
with five guests. The
Christmas meeting was
called to order by the
president, Mrs. Hake.
Ethel Wilt and Luna
Kohler read the scripture
and the Lord’s prayer was
repeated.
The treasurer’s report was
given by Ethel Conley. The
secretary’s report was read
and roll call was answered
by a word pertaining to
Christmas.
All the Society committees
gave their final report for
1979. Ruth Hake thanked
them all for their
cooperation and work that
supported her job. She noted,
“without such fine
cooperation of members,
there would not be the fine
York County Societies.
Hake also thanked &1 the
Society officers.
There was a gift exchange,
and a carol sing in which
everyone participated.

newly elected officers. They
included Mrs. Mary E.
Hake, Mrs. Luna Kohler,
Mrs. Reba Wise, Mrs. Nellie

Eight members will attend
