higher, instances .75 up late.
Heifers were .50-.75 higher.
Cows were steady and bulls

higher. Predominantly
choice 3 1050-1150 lb. Steers
sold on commodity account
were steady to .25 lower fore
part of week.
Three day receipts 11,800;
compared 11,100 three days
last week, and 15,000 like
period a year ago.
The fed cattle trade
followed a rather erratic pat
tern during the holdiay
period. Prices bent
downward on an expanded
Monday supply, but the
modest decline was more
than recovered at midweek
as carcass movement im
proved substantially. Com
modity buyers were fairly
aggressive early for steers
suitable for December
delivery as futures prices
allowed favorable hedging.
The run included a fairly
liberal percentage choice
steers and heifers, although
many were mixed 3-4 yield
grade. Steers made up ap
proximately 39 pet. and
heifers 36 pet. cows ac-
