County Farm Restaurant, Elizabethtown. The steer is owned and shown by
Nelson Beam, who was awarded the grand championship in the District show’s
showmanshio competition.

The 1105 pound lightweight
champion was bought by
John Hoober for Watt and
Shand Department Stores,
earning Patricia Messick of
Dauphin County over $950.
Darlene Huyard, of
Lancaster County, sold her
half ton steer to Com
monwealth National Bank
for $B3 per hundredweight
bringing her total earnings
for the steer to slightly over
$9OO.
Patricia Messick is all smiles after selling her
lightweight champion steer to Watt and Shand
Department Stores. Buyer for the store is John
Hoober.
