Young Farmer
meeting scheduled
for Hershey
HERSHEY - Since winning
the bid to host the 1981
National Young Farmer
Educational Institute in
Kansas City, ‘*e Penn
sylvania Association has
been busy mak: plans for
the event which will be at
tended by 2000 Young
Farmers and wives from
throughout the U.S
Hershey Convention
Center has been chosen as
the site of the event because
of it’s comemence for air
travel, it’s ability to handle
large groups, and, most
importantly, it’s proximity
to many of Pennsylvania’s
fme farms which will be
shown to the visitors.
The 2500 Pennsylvania
State Young Farmers have
elected Stanley R. Wolf of
Orratanna, Adams County,
to be the 1981 National In
stitute Chairman. Stanley
and his wife, LaVaughne,
who will be Chairlady for the
event, farm a livestock and
general farm close to Get
tysburg.
Wolf is well-known
throughout the Pennsylvania
Young Farmers Association.
He has been a member of the
Gettysburg Order for 20
years and has served in most
offices of that chapter. He
has also served as State
Regional Vice-President and
State President m 1971.
He attended the National
Young Farmer Educational
Institute as a Pennsylvania
Delegate in 1970,1971 & 1972.
In 1976, he served as
National Secretary for the
Institute and as Association
Secretary m 1977.
Also elected to four major
positions for the ‘Bl Institute
are William Homan of
Spring Mills, as Education
Coordinator; Leroy
Geeseman of
Fredericksburg as Public
Relations Coordinator; Earl

National Young Farmer
Educational Institute are:
To facilitate an exchange
of information among young
farm leaders.
To strengthen young and
adult farmer programs.
To facilitate an exchange
of educational ideas and
materials.
To enlarge the scope of
thought of state and national
young leaders.
To develop leadership
skills.
To coordinate the ac
tivities of state young far
mer organizations with the
teacher, teacher education,
and state vocational
agriculture office staffs.
To establish and mantain
channels of communications
among states through
cooperation with teacher
organizations, teacher
education institutions, and
state vocational agriculture
office staffs.
To leam from the farms of
successful Young Farmers
in other states.
To leam from outstanding
leaders in the Industry of
Agriculture.
