121—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November 17,1979 Lancaster Coimtian shows reserve jr. champ Arab colt HARRISBURG - Two Pennsylvanias took honors with their junior colts during the 1979 Arabian Horse Show at the Keystone In ternational Livestock Ex position held in the State Farm Show Complex. Coldiron & Tiday of Ox ford, Chester County, showed the junior champion colt of the show. Their entry, “Emerald Hill Nabiel,” was a yearling colt. Doreen Christensen of Manheim, Lancaster County, captured the reserve junior champion colt title with her two-year old, “Silver Candius.” “W. A. Apollo” captured the champion stallion honors of the Arabian show. “Apollo,” winner of the four year-old and older stallion class, was exhibited by Dick and Janet Roberson of Williamsburg, Virginia. “Nazir El Ajzaa” won the reserve champion stallion title. “Ajzaa,” owned by Dick Keller of Kent, Ohio, was also awarded the Pennsylvania Championship Arabian Western Pleasure Stake and the coveted Arabian Versatility Award. Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Desiderio of Chester, New Jersey, exhibited “Kahluaa,” a two-year-old filly which was chosen junior champion filly of the Arabian show. The reserve championship was bestowed on “Step Aside,” a yearling filly owned by Dick and Janet Roberson. “Arkdn Gublabiona,” winner of the four-year-old and older class, was selected as champion mare. She was exhibited by Joseph and Barbara Lo Re of Andover, New Jersey. The reserve champion mare stood second in the four-year-old and older class. “Sarifaa El Jon” was the entry, owned by Virginia Fox of Saint JohnsviUe, New York. Fust and second place winners in the four-year-old and older gelding class took champion and reserve gelding honors. “Elegion” exhibited by Paul E. Moros of Califon, New Jersey, was named champion and also winner of the Pennsylvania Cham pionship Park Horse Stake. “Imperial Mansome,” shown by Jeffery and Joyce Krusen of Bordentown, New Jersey, was selected reserve champion gelding. “AA Tsambur,” shown by Joseph and Barbara Lo Re, was selected as the Penn sylvania Championship Arabian English Pleasure Stake wmnter. Grange seeks end to alcohol fuel tax HARRISBURG - Charles Wismer, Master of the Pennsylvania Grange, issued a call in Harrisburg Wednesday to the Governor and the State House of Representatives for quick passage of legislation to repeal the $2500 permit to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for alcohol production for farm fuel use. “The $2500 fee effectively prohibits the small family farmers from operating a still to produce alcohol for fuel use,” Wismer said. Anthony major reason the fee should be lifted, Wismer proclaimed this legislation to be the Grange’s “top priority”. “Our balance of payments in foreign trade is m such dismal shape, and oil is one commodity that is to blame,” Wismer said. “Here we have an op portunity to alleviate our selves of this economic burden and we’re faced with another.” The Pennsylvania State Grange passed several resolutions in support of alcohol for farm fuel usage at their Annual Sessions held last month in Williamsport.
