Cows were steady to 1.00
higher and bulls 1.00-2.00
higher. Fleshly 1000-1100 lb.
two-way feeder steers 50-75 C
higher.
Four day receipts 11,700,
compared 10,300 last week
and 13,700 a year ago.
After a bearish opening
session on Monday, the fed
cattle trade steadied on
Tuesday and then evolved
into an active midweek
session as early declines
were more than offset. The
major stimulating factors
were modest supplies and
sharply higher carcass
prices under good demand at
the wholesale level. Weekly
supplies were still of modest
proportions, but were not
well distributed over the
trading period. The overall
finish was rather attractive
with a fairly liberal per
