“Oohs" and aahs" came from close to 900 program on gifts, Judith Mentzer and Sharon
participants as they watched and listened to Sheaffer demonstrated holiday food preparation,
speakers at the County Extension Service's and Ginny Ebberts showed the group how to make
Christmas program. Ruth Finkel presented a natural decorations for the home.
Edna Hershey, of Paradise, displays some of the crafts made through the Self-
Help Program of the Mennonite Central Committee.
Ginny Ebbert, an accredited judge with the
national council of state Garden Clubs, dazzled her
audience with beautiful centerpieces made out of
natural fruits, fungus, pine cones, and unusual
ingredients.
Christmas is coming ...
Some folks are getting ready
Wreath-making generated a great deal of in
terest from the group. Grapefruit shells turned
inside-out, corn-cobs that were eaten in the
Farm Women #l2 took part in the Extension Services two day Christmas
program. Minding their hand-made wares are Mrs. Willis'Click, president, from
R 1 Millersville, and with her is Mrs. William Shenk, R 6 Lancaster.

Ginny talked about her crafts as she created her
centerpieces. Unlike most people, she hopes kids
will smash her pumpkins so that she can go out in
the street to get the seeds for her crafts. “I hardly
have the heart to break them open myself.”
Many folks inspected the bazaar ideas and gifts
that the farm women societies had on display.
