Weber ordered the company to cease and desist from: -Purchasing livestock “Twenty Steps to 100-Bushel Wheat” by Elwood Hatley, extension agronomist; and an overview on the Center for Cereal Research at Penn State by Harold Marshall, research agronomist. Meat packers are required under the P&S act to maintain a solvent financial position and to pay ■promptly for livestock purchased. These are measures of financial protection for livestock sellers. The P&S act is a fair trade practices law administered by the packers and stockyards program of the department’s Agriculture Marketing Service. It promotes fair competition in the marketing of livestock, poultry, and meat.
