Gordon Long, the 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Long, Columbia, R 3, represented Pennsylvania at the Eastern States Livestock Judging Contest. He was the top individual scorer from the state and placed fifth overall. The team of which Long was a member placed fourth overall. Gordon is a seniorat Penn Manor High School and is president of the FFA Chapter. He plans a future in farming and is presently in partnership with his father in a hog farrowing operation. First place individual honors at the Richmand, Va. Livestock Judging contest went to Kevin Landis, Lancaster,R6 with the state team of three placing first. The 16 year old junior is active in the Manor Chapter and is presently an officer. He farms with his father on a steer farm and hopes to have a career in farming.
