large class of seventh degree

Babcock creates new
poultry health position
ITHACA, N.Y. - Robert C.
Wellenstein has been ap
pointed to the newly-created
position of viroimmunologist
in the poultry health
department at Babcock
Poultry Farm, Inc. in
Ithaca, New York.
According to Dr. Robert F.
Ball, poultry health
manager for the primary
breeder of egg-type poultry,
his primary responsibilities
will include the development
of new immunological ap
proaches to disease
diagnosis and prevention.
Wellenstein had
previously worked as a
supervising technician for
the Diagnostic Laboratory of
the New York State College

farm background, he was
graduated from Cornell in
1973 with a BS in Biology,
with a genetics con
centration. Subsequently, he
completed a number of
advanced veterinary
virology courses at Cornell,
and a six-week intensive
training program in im
munology from the USDA.
Wellenstein resides with

Newfield, New York.
