Livestock sale BEAVER SPRINGS - The Beaver Community Fair’s activities included a 4-H and FFA livestock sale on September 19. Market lambs, bogs and steers were included in the sale. A total of 12 market lambs were sold for the average price of 97 cents a pound. The grand champion was exhibited by Tony Trosell of Middle Creek, and was purchased by the Tn-County National Bank of Mid dleburg for $2.11 per pound. Christine Manneval of Beavertown showed the 206 pound grand champion market hog, which was sold to C.W. Reigle and Son of Paxtonville for $2.84 per pound. The contending bidder was Etzlers Butcher Shop. Keister’s Auction of Middleburg bought the reserve champion market hog for $1.50 a pound. The 216 pound hogs was exhibited by Hours: Mon., lues., Wed., Fri. - 7 - 30 to 5:30 Thurs. till 9:00, Saturday till 3 00 s ‘ held Barbara Erb of Beavertown. A total of 24 hogs were sold for the average price of 64 cents per pound. Three market steers were sold in the livestock sale. The 1240 pound grand champion shown by Nick Hemtzelman, Mt. Pleasant Mills, was sold to N.F. Troutman of Freeburg for $l.ll a pound.
