All-American dairy show entries due
HARRISBURG - Penn
sylvania Agriculture
Secretary Penrose Hallowell
recently reminded dairy
farmers that September 5 is
the last day to enter the 16th
Pennsylvania All-American
Dairy Show to be held
September 24 to 28 at the
Farm Show Complex in
Harrisburg.
Hallowell challenged
dairymen in the Com
monwealth to bring their
best cattle to the All-
American and “compete
with the best in the East.
Competition is one of the
greatest incentives for the
improvement and ad
vancement of a farmer’s
herd,” the Agriculture
Secretary said.
“For tiie third year m a
row,” Hallowell said, “the
1979 All-American will
feature three national breed
shows The Eastern National
Ayrshire Show, the Eastern
National Brown Swiss Show
and the Eastern National
Holstein Show will be held in
conjunction with the All-
American. In addition, the
All-amencan show for
Guernsey, Jersey and
Milking Shorthorn dairy
cattle will be featured on the
bill of events with more than
$60,000 in premiums at
stake.”
In conjunction with the
shows, there will be an in
vitational Brown Swiss and
Holstein sale.
