Frey, Auct. Thomas D. Leidy, Atty. —The department make periodic surveys to monitor price and procurement related activities similar to the analysis done for the “Beef Pricing Report.” —The department, with industry and consumer representatives conduct an indepth study of the adequacy of present reporting of both carcasses and fabricated beef and establish standards of adequate reporting of a thin market. Bergland called for a review by the consultation and evaluation group in July, 1980, to measure results of the department’s efforts to get voluntary in dustry cooperation in correcting the problems. He said the industries “must assume their .full share of obligation in taking all possible corrective actions. The task force has wisely recommended this review process and it is my ob servation that this review should be strongly em phasized and even ex panded beyond the 1 recommendation of the task force.”
