Dairy held at Lebanon LEBANON - A 4-H and FFA dairy judging contest was held on August 8 at the Lebanon Area Fair. A total of 46 FFA and 4-H members competed m separate divisions. Each contestant judged six classes of dif ferent dairy breeds. Gary Lentz of Norlebco High School won first place in the FFA division. Hay Creek Festival (Continued from Page 18) and demonstrations of farm activities such as a large sawmill in operation, wheat threshing, feed grinding, and the milling of com meal. All of these jobs will be done with energy supplied by a huge 17 ton steam engine. Each day at noon and again at 5 p.m. steam whistles will announce that it is time to eat. And oh can you eat! All types of food from funnel cakes to hamburgers to home made open fire cooked vegetable soup will be available Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. visitors can enjoy a *«£♦ s< Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 11,1979 chicken barbecue with all the trimmings served by the Geigertown Fire Co. And on Sunday they do it again! This time serving up a delicious pig roast from noon. Visitors will have to put on their dancing shoes on Friday night when the Festival opens with an old fashioned hoedown. Harvey Meyer and his Valley Mountaineers will be sup plying plenty of toe-tapping music from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission to the Friday night festivities is only $2. Tickets are available from association members or at the door. On Sunday morning at 8:30 an old time church service will be held outdoors. Old favorite hymns will be sung to the accompaniment of a 100 year old pump organ. The weekend of September 7,8, and 9 promises to be an exciting and informative experience for parents and children alike. The price is right FREE admission and FREE parking Saturday and Sunday.
