14—Uncaster Fanning, Saturday, July 21,1979 Keystone Grange 2 sponsors country fair TRAPPE - Keystone Grange No. 2, Trappe, hosts its seventh annual country fair on July 28 Many residents of southeastern Pa., particularly in Montg Co., have come to look forward to the event neld at the Municipal Park (.water works), First Avenue, Trappe. Grounds open at 11 a.m. to dusk; opening ceremonies at 11; 45 a.m. Grange fan' co-chairmen Albert Zvanck, Collegeville, and Charles E. Wismer, Jr., Trappe, outlined several new events at recent com mittee meetings. A precision drill and trick horse exhibition will be presented by the Lulu Mounted Guard of the Lulu Temple Shriners. The 4-H Rabbit Club will have animals judged and on display. Homemakers camp set for August BETHEL The annual Homemakers Camp will be held August 14 to 16 at Camp Swatara, near Bethel, Pa. The theme for this year is “Living with change.” Cost is $lB which includes meals, lodgmg, and recreation. Crafts will be available for those ladies interested. Samuel Kriebel, Mainland farmer and antique machinery buff, will have charge of field events such as gram threshing, gram grinding, horse-powered treadmill, and many other older farm machines and gasoline engines. Working machinery exhibitions will be made twice during the day. A display of antique tractors, organized by Jon Kriebel, Sumneytown, show sharp contrast to newer models with power steering and air-conditioned cabs used on larger farm operations. Crowds are also drawn to the garden-size tractors pulling com petitions in various weight classes. Antique and classic cars fascmate young and old. An on-the-grounds parade is planned. In the day of in creased awareness of fuel' shortages, it is intriguing to look to tunes when our economy became based on a very mobile society Traditional farm and home crafts, and com mercial exhibits, organized by co-chairman Wismer, still constitute one of the great interests at the fair. These displays are open all day, as well as a garden show (entries open to public), food stands and pony rides. Children’s games for the younger folks are held m mid-afternoon. Musical entertainment in the late afternoon and evenmg complements a chicken barbecue; bring lawn chairs. BBQ tickets are available from Grange members; serving starts at 4:30 P.M.; limited sales at the door. Admission is free; parking charge $1 per car. Rain date is Aug. 4.
