The fed cattle trade came under severe downward pressure in a bearish, selec tive trade as buying in terests made a determined effort to bring live prices in line with a downward plung ing carcass trade. Most slaughterers were not ag gressive for maximum numbers in view of the con tinued unfavorable cut-out ratio, and one major interest was out of the market for the entire week. The current downturn marked the third time in four weeks that clos ing prices were lower than the previous week with net declines of some 4.50-5.25.
