A registered Holstein cow owned by Emanuel L. King,
Leola, completed the highest 305 day lactation Marieen
produced 21,854 lbs. of milk, 908 lbs. of buttertat with a 4 2
per cent test. Second high lactation was completed b>
registered Holstein cow owned by John M. Harnish, 1036
Beaver Valley Pike', Lancaster. Sandra produced 19,755
lbs. of milk, 901 lbs. of butterfat with a 4.6 per cent test in
305 days.
The herd of Christian Zook, Gap, had the highest daily
butterfat average. This herd of 44.2 registered & grade
Holstein cows averaged 61.3 lbs. of milk, 2.31 lbs. of
butterfat with a 3.8 per cent test. The herd of Ephraim D.
Riehl Jr., Leola, placed second. This herd of 26 Registered
and grade Holstein cows averaged 56.6 lbs. of milk, 2.30
lbs. of butterfat with a_4.l per cent test.
