the Club is comprised
primarily of dairy science
graduates. Their'purpose is
to work to improve dairy
programs at Penn State
University.
J. Lloyd Ebersole, a Penn
State dairy science graduate
and now employed by Sire-
Power, Tunkhannock, has
served as president of the
organization since the idea
for such an organization first
became reality in May of
1977. Ebersole, who will
continue to serve as a
director of the group, was
succeeded as president by
PSU dairy science professor,
August “Gus” Branding. He
has been closely associated
with the group since the
beginning. Branding retires
from his career as dairy
science professor on July 1.
He has been at Penn State
since 1964, and had been vice
president of the Penn State
Dairymen’s Club. The new
vice president is John
Howard, who is well known
through his affiliation with

the Pennsylvania Holstein
Association.
In other activities at the
banquet meeting, Arthur
Nesbitt and Dr. Enos Perry
were called to the front for
special recognition. Nesbitt,
a former Pennsylvanian,
and still owner of a farm in
the western part of the state,
‘ has been making a name for
himself in recent years as a
top executive with NASCO.
He at one time served as a
Holstein fieldman in the
Keystone State.
Perry, a 1916 graduate oi
dairy husbandry, has served
as a Bairy scientist and
Extension specialist at
Rutgers Universitry for 33
years. Now retired, he is the
recipient of the 1979
Distinguished Dairy science
Alumnus Award.
Many members of the
infant organization, as well
as guests, stayed for the 54th
annual Penn State Dairy
Exposition which got un
derway at the Dairy Center
the next morning. Details of
that event can be found in an
article beginning on page 93.
