farmers on Maryland’s
Lower Eastern Shore are
beginning to operate in the
red...and they love it!
Fields and patches of
Maryland strawberries are
starting to turn crimson, and
the growers anticipate one of
the better years for their
tasty crop.
That means its nearing
strawberry auction time at
Princess Anne according to
the Maryland Department of
Agriculture, which supplies
the grades for the auction.
Grading is done on the basis
of size, color, condition and
cleanliness and is one of the
respected features of the
strawberry auction. Buyers
know what they are getting.
