The first signs of heat
include reddening and
swelling of the lips of the
vulva. A mucus discharge
sometimes appears 24 to 48
hours later. In the next 24 to
48 hours, the vulva
enlargement is reduced and
the color fades. At this time,
some gilts and sows still
stand to the back pressure
test. For those which stand,
the use of Boar Mate will
increase the chances of
breeding success and fer
tility.
