sucker control
is no bargain.
When you’re raising a crop
that’s worth so much an acre,
you don’t take chances on
anything as basic as sucker control.
That’s why most tobacco

Tractor pulling
contests here again
THE BUCK The roar of
souped up engines will be
heard here again next
Saturday evening, and the
sound won’t necessarily be
coming from tractors in the
field. Tractor pulls are here
again. Competing here at the
Buck Tractor Pulling
Stadium will be, as in
previous years, some of the
top pullers from the Nor
theast, and the nation.
Regular pullers come from
many parts of Pennsylvania,
as well as Maryland,
Delaware, and New Jersey.
Located 10 miles south of
Lancaster on Route 272, the
Buck stadium is a favorite
Saturday night gathering
place for many farmers m
the area. Spectators also
come from urban and
suburban areas, including
such distant places as New
York City and Pittsburgh.
Tractor pulling contests
are pulling enthusiastic fans
to trackside faster and faster
each year. Whereas 10 years
ago the sport was virtually
unheard of in the East,
