berland County Cooperative
Extension Service is offering
two courses for the
homesewer. The first, an
all-day workshop covering
construction techniques for
mens shirts and trousers will
be held March 13, from 9:30
a.m.t02;30p.m.
Discussions and demon
strations will focus on a
trouser fly zipper, side and
back pockets and waistband
application; also, shirt
collars, sleeve plackets and
seam finishes. Participants
in the workshop will have an
opportunity to try several of

is an Introduction to Flat
Pattern Design, meeting six
Wednesdays from 9 to 11:30
a.m. beginning April 4
through May 9th. Pattern
making is the primary
purpose of flat pattern work

Participants in the course
will prepare a one half scale
master pattern to be used in
the designing. Lectures and
demonstrations will focus on
dart locations and
movement by the pivot and
slash methods, "converting
darts to seamlines and
gathers and yoke and
neckline design. The
registration fee for the Flat
