York-Adams Pomona
Grange meets
BIGLERVILLE - The
York-Adams Pomona
Grange No. 40, met at their
quarterly session on
February 10, in the U. M.
Church in BiglerviUe, with
'BiglerviUe Grange No. 2063
as host.
William Justh, Pomona
Master was in charge of the
business session. During
that session the following
names were suggested to
serve on the Pennsylvania
Governor’s Committee of
Secretary of Tran
sportation; Joseph Larkins,
Marvin Miller and Arthur
Ebbert, all from BiglerviUe
Grange; William Traver and
Leon Dubler, from Valley
Grange.
Anna May Snyder, York-
Adams Youth Chairman,
announced that Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Gallimore,
BiglerviUe Grange, have
received appointments to the
National Grange Youth
Team. Miss Snyder has been
appointed to the Junior
Grange Committee of the
Pennsylvania State Grange.
Winners in the Cherry-pie
Baking Contest were: First
place, Mary McDannel,
BiglerviUe Grange, and
second, Dorothy Reichart,
Gideon Grange.
“Gardening” was the
theme of Lecturer Gladys
Sheffer’s program.
Chair caning workshop
to be
MEDIA - A workshop is
now being offered to teach
you bow to weave a seat for
your caned chair. To
register, send your check for
$12.50, made payable to
Home Economics
Workshops, and a piece of
the old cane by March 5. If

one hole to the center of the
adjoining hole.
This workshop is spon
sored by the Cooperative
Extension Service of The
Fifty-seven attended the
session, with State Deputy
Master AUen Hostetter,
Lebanon County, and
Pennsylvania State Grange
Secretary George Rogers, as
guest. ,
Following a covered-dish
supper, Mr. Rogers
presented a film from the
National Grange on ‘ ‘What is
Grange?”
Before York-Adams
Pomona meets again on May
12, at' Valley Grange,
Lewisbury, the foUowing
dates and activities are
planned for all members:
March 10, at 7:30 p.m. Youth
sponsored Square Dance;
April 9, Annual Ham Raffle,
sponsored by Youth; April
28, Annual Legislative
Banquet; and May 6, a Pre-
Pomona meeting at 2 p.m.,
all to be held at the VaUey
Grange HaU. March 18, at 2
p.m., the Region G State
Grange planning meeting
wiU be held at Red Lion
Grange Hall, and on April 1,
in the Pennsylvania State
Grange office, the Four-
County Picnic planning
meeting will be held at 2
p.m.
Special Ritual Instruction
nights will be held on March
31, at 7:30 p.m. at VaUey
Grange, and on April 7 at
Gideon Grange, Hanover, at
7:30 p.m.

meet in the Toal Budding
Auditorium from 1 to 3 p.m.
