GETTYSBURG - To help
farm families understand
estate planning and how it
may be used to preserve
family farms in Adams
County, a two day workshop
on Estate Planning for Farm
Families will be held
February 19 and 21. The
workshop will be held both
days at the West Street
Branch of Gettysburg
National Bank, Gettysburg
from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The
program is sponsored by the
Adams County Extension
Service.

management specialist, will
be discussing farm

courses in Farm Manage
ment for Part-Time
Farmers on February 22,
February 27 and March 14.
Each session will begin at
7:30 p.m. at the Cumberland
County Extension Building,

help those people who have
regular jobs but who also
engage, or would like to
engage, in some kind of far

vestments in farm estate
planning. The importance of
insurance in estate planning
will also be covered.
Fred Hughes, Penn State
farm management
specialist, and Joe Larkin,
Gettysburg attorney will
serve as workshop speakers
on February 21. Topics to be
explained will include use of
meetings set
requirements for capital,
labor, physical inputs and
the returns and potential
profit from growing such
crops as apples, beans,
strawberries, corn and v
wheat or livestock enter
prises like beef, dairy,
sheep, swine, veal or
poultry. It will also provide
an opportunity for part-time
farmers to discuss then
plans with extension
specialists and agents.
On February 22, decision
making and horticultural,
field and vegetable crops
will be discussed by county
agents, Don Gverdorff and
Roland Freund. The alter
