Tree seedlings again
offered for sale

LANCASTER We may
still be in the midst of Winter
but the Lancaster County
Conservation District is
already busily making plans
for their Spring tree seedling
sale.
Again this year they will
be offering both hardwoods
and evergreens, with dif
ferent varieties available.
All orders, with a check to
cover the costs, should be
sent to the Lancaster County
Conservation District Office,
Room 6, Farm and Home
Center, 1383 Arcadia Roda,
Lancaster, Pa. 17601.
Deadline to send in orders is
March 17,1979.
Those seedlings purchased
can be picked up at Long
Park, Pavillion No. 1, 1441
Old Harrisburg Pike,
Lancaster, on April T, bet
ween 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Long Park is located sooth of
the Park City Shopping
Center.
In the evergreens line, the
district is offering six
varieties this year.
The following varieties are
offered:
The blue spruce trees are
known to be sturdy and
compact in form. Their color
will vary from blue-green to
blue, with about 15 per cent
of the trees pure blue. They
grow very dense to form
windbreaks or screens, with
a xnaximun height of 40 feet
and spread of 20 to 25 feet.
