Chevron Chemical Company
has awarded the D. M.
Weatherly Company,
Atlanta, Georgia, a contract
totaling $14.5 million for
construction of nitric acid
and nitrogen solutions
facihties at its Fort Madison,
lowa, fertilizer plant.
Construction of the new
facilities is scheduled to
begin in June, 1979.
Completion is scheduled
formid-1980.
Chevron, a subsidiary of
Standard Oil Company of
California, is spending in
excess of $5O million to meet
the growing demand for
fertilizer in the Midwest. The
current expansion will make
Fort Madison the company’s
largest producer of fer
tilizers
