Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The 233,000 square foot plant is the world’s largest plastic and sisal twine mill, and the only producer of sisal twine in the U.S. This twine is used for hay baling as well as industrial ap plications. IH started producing twine in New Orleans in 1923, and the present plant was built in 1952 on a land lease to 1997 with the New Orleans port authority. “The sale is part of IH’s continuing program to redeploy its assets for maximum company benefit,” said Ben H.
