HARRISBURG - Almon
Huff of Lafayette Hill
exhibited the champion on
rail carcass lamb at the 63rd
Pa. Farm Show held
recently. Huff’s 95 pound
first place lightweight
Dorset entry was named
reserve champion on-foot in
earlier competition.
The champion carcass
lamb had a hot carcass
weight of 52 pounds and
chilled out two pounds less.
It had a 4.0 per cent kidney
fat, .10 inch fat thickness,
and 2.6 square inches m loin
eye area. In conformation
and leg score, Huff’s lamb
was low prune, receiving an
average prime in the quality
grade.
The reserve champion
carcass on-rail was
exhibited by Carleton Huff of
Lafayette Hill. On-foot, his
87-pound entry placed fourth
in the lightweight division.
The reserve champion had a
hot carcass weight of 49
pounds and lost one pound in
the chilling. Huff’s lamb had
3.0 per cent kidney fat, .15
inch fat thickness and a loin
eye area of 2.6 square in
ches. In quality grade,
conformation, and leg score,
Huff’s lamb scored average
prune.
Angie Fought of Carlisle
R 6, exhibited the champion
on-foot carcass lamb at the
show. Her 100 pound entry
placed fifth in the
