—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, January 13,1979 104 Darryl Rohrbaugh captures Guernsey titles By DIETER KRIEG HARRISBURG - York Countian Darryl Rohrbaugh came to the Farm Show with one cow this week, but went back home with double honors. The 14-year old New Freedom youth captured the top title for both the youth and open divisions of the Guernsey show, marking the first time ever that he showed grand champions at the Farm Show. The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rohrbaugh, the boy is well known,- however, for his accomplishments at other, equally prestigious shows. For example, he has been no stranger to the All-American Dairy Show that is held here annually in September. Leo Rutter of Rutter Brothers Dairy, York, displays the two plaques won by his family at the Farm Show. 'j. The cow young Rohrbaugh won with Monday morning is Leaders H. Muriel, a 4-year old animal which he has owned since she was a calf. She won her class, the senior championship, and finally the grand title. The reserve grand and reserve senior champion titles in both the youth and open shows were won by a Washington County girl, Alisa Marie Fava. She is the daughter of Mr. an Mrs. Joseph Fava of Scenery Hill. A consistent winner at all major Guernsey shows that take place in the Keystone State, Miss Fava is also the reigning State Guernsey Queen. Her winning entry at TIC TER the Farm Show was a 3-year old, Red Hill Sharia. Alisa’s sister, Renee, exhibited the reserve junior champion in the open show, Co-Hill Farms M Classy, a heifer calf. In the youth division, that title was won by Cindy Rutter of York, who was at the halter of Rutter Bros Pedros Page, a junior yearling. Winner of the junior champion ribbon in the open show was another Washington Countian, John Marchezak of Bentleyville. He exhibited a senior yearling named Twin Brook Fayror Violet.
