year he has been elected for
the offices of chapter
president and county
chaplain.
Randy was started with
his dairy heifer project by
writing an essay on how to
feed and care for a heifer
calf. He entered a contest
and won a Jersey heifer calf.

Then he bought two more
Holstein heifer calves to add
to his project. Presently he
has projects including 10
acres of field com, 10 acres
of spring oats, one breeding
gilt, and three dairy heifers.
During his years of being
in the Northern Lebanon
FFA Chapter, he par
ticipated in many contests
and activities. He showed his
dairy heifer projects at the
Lebanon Area Fair in 1976,
1977, 1978, and also showed
at the Southeastern District
FFA Dairy Show in 1976,
1977, 1978. Two times he
qualified to show at the State
Junior Dairy Show. He was
very successful in all the
contests he entered with his
dairy animals.
In 1976, he entered m dairy
judging at Penn State, and
he also attended the National
FFA Convention in Kansas
City, Missouri. In 1977, he
gave a speech in both the
local and area public
speaking contests. In 1978,
he entered in the hvestock
judging contest at Penn
State and attended the
National Leadership
Training Conference in

parliamentary procedure
team which placed second in
the state. His projects were
25 market hogs, two
breeding gilts, and two acres
of com. He also went to the
National FFA Convention at
Kansas City. He was the first
member in the FFA to get on
the Superior Honor Roll.

com, and 50 market hogs. He
was also on the

the state.
During his third year, his
projects consisted of 60
breeding gilts, 50 market
hogs, and two acres of com.
He was a member of the
Parliamentary Procedure
team which placed third m
the region. He went to Penn
State for livestock judging
and placed 15th.
His future plans are to buy
his father’s farm and con
tinue with 120 sow operation.
Also he would like to buy
more farm land or rent land
for a building to house 500
market hogs of which they
produce.
