Mrs. Cora Umble of Atglen, a member’s sister showed the women this craft. The meeting was held in the home of Mrs. Lena Eyrich, Oleyßl. Mrs. Patsy Moyer, Oley Rl, was installed as a new member. The twenty attending members voted to give monetary Christmas gifts to two area families. The group had a refreshment stand November 25 at Paul Delong’s sale in Oley. Georganna Fullerton, vice president gave a report on the County Board meeting which was held November 6 at Berks Heim. Plans were discussed for the Christmas season. The next meeting will be held on December 5 at the home of Mrs. Walter Burkepile, Boyertown R 3. Berks Co, Society 6 Crafts was the program for the Berks County Farm Women Society 6 Meeting on November 21, the hostess was Mrs. Earl Hoffman, Oley. Mrs. Carl Herbein, Mrs. Nora Sweitzer, Mrs. Bessie Rapp, and Mrs. David Bauer assisted the elderly for game night at Berks Heim. The ladies were given the opportunity to see and purchase Society of Farm Women jackets being sold by Society 3. The group also discussed several places they would like to go this winter. Several of the ladies will be checking possibilities and getting the information for the group. A number of fruit baskets and poinsettias will be given to a number of elderly in the community for the Christ mas project, as well as night gowns to the Hamburg Center. The ladies will make fruit baskets on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. The gift exchange and secret pals will be revealed at the Christmas party and banquet to be held at Reesers Restaurant at 7:30 p.m. on December 8. There will be a gift exchange, grab bag style, for the men also. Lancaster Co. Society 3 Shirley Lee was the hostess of the Lancaster County Farm Women Society 3 November 11 meeting which met at the Salem U.C.C., Reamstown. The business meeting was conducted by President Miriam Moore. Delegates were appointed for the Pennsylvania State Con vention in January. They are Mrs. Leininger r Mary Alice Gregory and Miriam Moore. Barbara Wenger was selected as alternate. Contributions were made to the Ephrata High School Band Fund, and the Ephrata Recreation Center. She also presented the program “Scripture In terperation in Flower Design.” December 5, at 7:30 p.m., the members will visit the homes of the “Silver Haired Members” and sing Christmas carols. Mrs. Leininger will be hostess at the Swamp U.C.C., on December 16 at 2 p.m. There will be a guest appearance of Santa Clause for the children, and a gift exchange among members. The Society realized $35 from an auction of foods by the Ways and Means Committee. Janet Frantz served as auctioneer and Alma Cleindenin clerked. New officers were in stalled at the Lancaster Councy ' convention, they were President, Kathryn Wagner, and Vice-President, Jeaneßames. The Society will hold a family Christinas banquet and party on December 7 at the Rhoads Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. At that tune, big sisters will be revealed.
