Names of children at
Christ Home was distributed
to members to purchase
gifts for Christmas.

Lancaster County Con
vention and Town Pair and
final plans made for a visit to
Conestoga View on
November 14.
The December meeting
will bejidd at the home of

Mrs. Ira Welk served as
hostess for the November
meeting of Lancaster County
Farm Women Society 28.
Mrs. Fred Esbenshade was
co-hostess.
The program for the
evening was on “Gift
Wrapping Packages for
Pennies” by Mrs. Wallace
Heisey.
The next meeting will be
on December 7 at the home
of Helen Rohrer. Everyone
is to bring a $2 gift for her
secret sister.

Mrs. Celia Pence of
Lebanon hosted the
November meeting of the
Lebanon County Farm
Women Society 5. Eighteen
members were present
Vera Fahnestock read an
article about Thanksgiving.
Roll call was asnwered by
naming favorite foods.
President Minerva Lentz
conducted the business
meeting. The ladies then
swapped recipes and
samples of the recipes they
brought.
The Society will hold a
Christmas banquet at the
Esters Diner for their
December meeting. The
Society members are asked
to bring a “secret pal’s gift”
along.

Charlotte Herbst hosted
the November 8 meeting of
the York County Farm
Women Society 2.
Mr. Les Jackson of the
York County Emergency
Operation Center spoke on
the Center’s new program
and how it will affect York
County.
Mall Bazaar Chairman
Grace Ferree reported a
good return for our table and
plans for organizing next
year’s stand were made.
January’s State Farm
Women’s Convention
delegates were selected and
are Blanche Sechrist and
Mary Herbst.
Lois Wetzler and Miriam
Dapp displayed items made
at the 4-H club under the
York County Cooperative
Extension service.
The home extension
service Christmas party will
be held November 28 at the 4-
H Building at Bair.
Society 2’s next meeting
will be a Christmas party on
December 13 at Rutter’s
Restaurant in Red Lion.
The September 13 meeting
was held at the home of
Romame Keener and a very
good safety program was
presented.
The October 11 meeting
was held at the home of
Lestha Weisensale and a
donation was given to “New
Life for Children.”

Mrs. William L. Miller
hosted a Thanksgiving
luncheon for 18 members
and two guests for the
November meeting of the
York County Farm Women
Society 26.
President Mrs. William
Hake chaired the business
meeting. Eight members
plan on attending the State
convention in Januaiy. All
information for the 1979
Year Books are available
and the new Year Book in
formation will be handed out
at the December meeting. It
was reported that six
members attended the
County convention.

Opryland
Auditions
set
NASHVILLE, Term. - The
audition team from
Opryland U.S.A., music
entertainment complex, will
be in Pittsburgh, Wed
nesday, December 6, and
Philadelphia, Thursday,
December 7, holding
auditions for the singers and
dancers, instrumentalists,
and technicians needed for
the music theme park’s 15
live music shows next season
and their new resident
theatre company.
6pen auditions will be held
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
Crossgates Inn in the
Oakland Room West, Forbes
at McKee Place, in Pitt
sburgh, and from 11 a.m. to 4
p.m. at the Holiday Inn-The
City Line in the Salon F & 6,
City Line Avenue and
Monument Road, in
Philadelphia.
The audition staff, which
includes the park’s
choreographer, musical
director, and show directors,
will be looking for 450
singers, instrumentalists,
dancers, dance captains,
actors and musical
leaders/conductors. In
addition to performers, they
will be looking for ex
perienced stage managers,
lighting technicians, sound
engineers, stage hands,
follow spot operators and
costume dressers.
Auditionees do not need to
make any prior
arrangements or ap
pointments.
President Ruth Hake to
attend the State meeting in
Harrisburg on January 9.
Alternates are Kay Kibler
and Freda Beard. There will
be bus transportation for the
Monday and Tuesday State*
Convention sessions.
The Society will have a
Christmas banquet on
December 6,6:30 p.m. at the
Avalong Farm Dairy
Restaurant.
The next meeting will be
